01

What happened

On 11 September 2026 @monad posted that StraitsX is the title sponsor of an event called Open. The post calls StraitsX a regulated stablecoin-native settlement layer and the issuer of XSGD and XUSD, and says it uses a chain for payments interoperability and for stablecoin-backed card issuance. This snapshot shows 68 reposts, 7 quotes, 59 replies and 457 likes.

A title sponsorship is a payment for a name on an event. It is not an integration, and the post does not say the tokens will be native on Monad.

02

Why it matters

Two tokens, a Singapore dollar and a US dollar, plus a card, is a real product surface if the issuer's documents match the sentence. The word regulated needs the same split Ripple bothered to write down: which licence, which reserves, which failure.

Card issuance backed by a stablecoin is a conversion product. Someone is doing the card scheme, the bank, and the freeze. The post names none of them.

03

The operating layer

Do not add XSGD or XUSD to a treasury allow-list because a chain account announced a sponsor.

If there is a later technical integration, it will be a different post, with addresses.

04

What is verified

The sponsorship and the description of StraitsX are in Monad's post.

StraitsX's licence and reserve reports were not retrieved here.

05

What is still unclear

Which regulator, and of what activity.

Whether any token is issued on Monad or only advertised beside it.

Who issues the card.

06

The catch

A sponsor's logo is not a settlement rail. 'Regulated' in the host's sentence is still an adjective until the licence is named.

WATCH

What builders should watch

  1. 01StraitsX's own description of the same sponsorship.
  2. 02The licence behind 'regulated'.
  3. 03Whether XSGD or XUSD is actually issued on this network.
  4. 04The card scheme and the bank behind it.

BOTTOM LINE

Monad says StraitsX, issuer of XSGD and XUSD, is paying to be the title sponsor of an event. That is a commercial announcement. It is not evidence the tokens clear on Monad, and it is not the licence.
