How a lead is scored
The score decides whether a post is worth a reporter’s time. It is not published inside the article, and it is not evidence.
| Factor | Weight | Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Reach | 30% | Reposts, quotes, replies and likes, by age. Quotes stay separate from reposts. |
| Relevance | 20% | Does it belong to a topic this desk already covers? |
| Credibility | 20% | Known source, primary document, or a handle with a record. Not a follower count. |
| Novelty | 15% | New fact versus a repeated comment. |
| Corroboration | 10% | A second source, or an explicit unverified label. |
| Discussion | 5% | Whether replies add a source, not whether they are loud. |
The fixture “100x gem buy now. Guaranteed return if you ape in with my referral code.” is refused for: price-call, hype, promo.
A briefing URL does not contain a post id. The id stays on the desk record.
