A billion dollars onchain is distribution, not a legal form.
Reported tokenised stocks and ETFs have found holders. The unfinished work is permission, title and corporate actions.
BNB Chain has been reported as the first network past a billion dollars in tokenised stocks and ETFs. A closer reading of the reported holdings puts them near $1.1 billion, about 30 per cent of a $3.7 billion market in tokenised equities and ETFs, across something like 1.8 million addresses. “First” and the dollar shares are reported figures, not a recount performed here.
The strategic fact inside the headline is distribution. Familiar market exposure has started to find people because it can be held in smaller pieces and moved at the speed of software. The legal fact the headline skips is that “tokenised stock” is not one thing.
