Payments
Do not use a stablecoin because the word settlement sounds modern.
Use one when the parties can hold it, redeem it, and survive a pause. If they need a deposit at a bank, that is a different liability.
Wrong when
- The holder cannot redeem, or does not know who can refuse.
- A pause by the issuer or the chain stops the business.
- The peg depends on selling another token of the same system.
- The legal payment has to be a bank deposit or a central-bank liability.
- Someone is describing the token as yield.
