Do not carry the number forward
This page does not repeat 3.1 billion as a current fact. The post did not show its methodology in the visible text, and a 2020 cumulative count says nothing about 2026 settlement, stablecoin volume or venture revenue.
Mempool observation and confirmed settlement are different objects. A transaction can be spam, a failed attempt, a wash, or a $1 transfer. Counting them equally flatters activity and hides value.
What a studio should count instead
For a venture: paying users, retained volume in a defined asset, failed-transaction cost, time-to-settlement, and the share of flow that still needs a human exception. Those numbers are allowed on this site only when we have calculated them and can show the method.
The Global Digital Asset Index on this site is deliberately unfinished until that method exists. A tweet from 2020 is not the method.
Why the post still earns a URL
It is part of the public record of the handle. Searchers who find the old wording should land on a page that narrows it, not on a homepage that pretends the firm never talked about raw throughput.
Exponential curves are a marketing habit. They are not a thesis.
